At last - waking up gently
I've had my alarm light for about a month now. I've always struggled to wake up and the clocks changing really had an impact this year.I've left it on the 30 minute dawn and this seems perfect. It really does wake me gently. The alarm noises aren't great but I've chosen some deep bells and it's not unpleasant.Snoozing requires tapping the top of the light so this feel natural (and not fiddly).I've also been using the sunset feature. Although I've never struggled to get to sleep, it's very calming and I think I get to sleep within about 15 minutes. When used as a lamp, it's pretty bright. I use this in the morning. My one annoyance is that it's 3 taps to turn it off again.Overall, the build quality and design is good. It's easy to set up and looks pretty cool. It doesn't omit any annoying noises and I've got it set up so the time isn't lit at night (I like a dark room). It was £110 when I got it (ouch) after reading all the reviews for similar products. I'm glad I bought it. It's cut my snoozing down by half.It could be improved by having different alarms per day / weekends etc. but I knew it didn't have this when I got it. I leave it set for the weekend now too.

It works!
It's really easy to set up and you can chose brightness and length of time as well as a selection of nature sounds to set as an alarm. I use mine on full brightness as a bedside light and then swap to sunset once I'm ready to settle. It gently dims to the sounds of gentle rain and I'm asleep before it finishes. In the morning, it simulates sunrise over 30 minutes and I'm awake about 20 minutes in but I have ocean waves set as an alarm too. Worked for me from day one and although I don't jump out of bed full of life, I definitely find getting up on cold dark mornings easier. For me, worth the price .

Primarily a clever, if expensive, bedside light.
An intriguing device from Philips that should be thought of as a clever light which offers sleep, wake-up, and relaxation modes and sounds. There’s also an FM radio. What it does best is a light. It feels like a quality luminaire and can go very bright but as a larger light-source it’s not as intense on the eyes as a point like bulb. And it’s party trick is the midnight light. In a dark room it’s like red sunset and easy on the eyes. This night light is simply activated by just tapping the top rear of the unit. These things aren’t easy to photograph as the camera picks up the LED refreshing so apologies for the quality with the light activated.Other things to note are that functions are accessed by touching icons around the clock area and the clock auto dims and brightens depending on lighting conditions. As for the sound quality, as a rear firing speaking it’s not going to set an amazing standard in audio but it’s acceptable. It also doesn’t go too loud and isn’t the cleanest sound - not great for the hard of hearing - but if not too far from a wall this helps to improve the volume.Overall this is primarily a light with audio bolted on.

It works for me.
I've been working night shift for a number of year but due to Covid, I had the choice of day shift or no job 😕One of the things I hated about day shift, was getting up in the dark to the buzzing sound of an alarm clock. Absolutely hated it.So I invested in a light alarm clock.Being woken by the simulation of a rising sun and if necessary, the soft sound of birds chirping or in my case the chimes of a Nepal Bowel is great.I wake up with a more positive attitude, rather than a resentful one.The light brightness is adjustable as well as the duration it takes to get there.Alarm volume is also adjustable (which is a bonus as I wear ear plugs) and you have the option of having no sound. There are two alarm settings, which I have one alarm set with light and sound for the week day (and my phone as a back up, which I've never needed). And the other set for light, no sound for the weekend.BUT I do need to remember to switch the alarms on/off manually. You can't schedule different alarms times for different days.I also use the sunset simulation at bed time, which is also a very pleasant feature but I've not used the soothing sounds. The night light feature is a bit low but usable.Yes this is a very expensive alarm clock but you soon forget the cost when you wake up each day in a more positive mood than using the alternative.

Great natural alarm clock
I'm really impressed with this. I love being woken up gently. It has lots of features and is easy to navigate. I like that it has a sleep function to help you drift off naturally and is an alarm clock to help you wake up gently
