RoxilEnhanced Decking Oil 5L Clear - Weatherproof, Nourish and Protect Outdoor Wood with Added UV Protection

I have used this on our fence that we have made and I can say it seems like a good product. Not too oily. Spreads well and small amount goes a long way. It definatley does darken the wood but I didn't mind It. Good product to purchase and use. Hopefully it will protect the wood over the winter period.

Firstly I am a decking novice, I have never owned decking before! So our Holiday Home decking required re oiling. It is now approx. 18 months old and was looking dry and very light in colour.Now I knew that clear oil would darken the wood as when it rains and penetrated the decking it became darker!Roxil is very easy to use, open and pour it into whatever paint kettle etc. you are going to use (Ensure the decking is clean and free of algae) and apply with a brush/applicator. Beware your decking will be thirsty and will absorb the oil voraciously, the knots even more so. You will probably need at least one more can than you think! I have seen the results of people using budget oil and Roxil is far superior.The result is that you decking and surround does darken as the oil is absorbed into the wood, but not significantly so. The wood looks revitalised and healthy. The finish significantly repels water (tested with a watering can).Roxil îs not the cheapest but it is extremely effective. It does darken the wood, but it looks good. There is a very slight odour which disappears when dry.I highly recommend this Decking Oil.

This deck oil is great. Best one I've found so far. I've used cuprinol in the past, which doesn't seem to last and you get over brush marks (where you've overlapped), this oil leaves an even finish.Some people have commented on the coverage specified. I have two decks, an older one and a newer one. The older one soaks up more oil so the coverage was less, but obviously there are going to be a number of factors. Overall I would say coverage was OK.I would definitely recommend giving the deck a good clean otherwise previous coatings could stop the oil soaking into the wood properly. I jet washed mine twice, really thoroughly before applying this oil.You can tell it soaks in well and has a good oil content. The only downside is that it takes a few days to completely dry (depending on weather) I applied when it was windy and sunny but still took about 4 days or more (which lost the one star).As previous comments, even though it is clear it does darken the wood as all oils do.Final tip. I bought a good quality, thick deck brush (only £10) but made the job so much easier.

I was recommended this product by my builder who fitted some decking in my back garden. It's a great product which has effectively sealed the new wood and helped to make it waterproof. I've only used a fraction of the 5L and there is plenty more to allow me to paint the decking again next year when the weather improves. It does darken the wood a bit, but it enhances the grain, which I quite like.

Coverage on fresh timber was easy and pleasing. Allowed to dry in good weather for 7 days and now beads rain as per the advertised photos.That said the decking is very slippery in the rain even after 3 weeks.The smell/product transfers onto my dog’s paws even after washing them when he’s walked over it.So the product is good but use with caution.In all honesty I probably would have avoided using it knowing what I know now.

I was looking for a good quality decking oil, I purchased Roxil after reading reviews and I was not disappointed.

It certainly creates a good water proof barrier against water/rain but it did darken my decking ,but I do think it reacted with other decking solutions I had put on my decking, so I am at the moment cleaning my decking with a restorer then am about to karcher then am going to see if it lightens up my decking then I will reaply the decking oil I do recommended cleaning your decking thoroughly before application to remove any other products you may of had on it previously overall if you want a good water proofing and good protection I do recommend
