Non-ergonomically friendly handles, but it's Calphalon, so guess I'll just keep and use it.
I was really looking for the same type of Calphalon sauté pan I'd purchased before---with one change in mind---a long handle on one side and a helping handle on the other. I'd wanted a rounded bottom pan like my old one because I liked the way it cooked and that I could slide a silicone spatula easily under the food, but it was a little difficult to handle (even though I liked the ergonomic handles) because I always had to have two hands free to pick it up since it didn't have a longer handle on one side. I found this pan and decided to purchase it, since it's the same brand. What I've discovered is, this new pan's handles are not ergonomically designed; they're not as comfortable for me to hold because they're squared metal, and without the silicone comfort grips my old pan had. (I've enclosed pictures so you can see a difference between the two pans.) I generally lift a heavier pan closer in on the handle, for leverage---but this pan's long handle is designed in such a way that the pan cannot be lifted except to hold it further out because of a "V" separation attaching the pan. My older pan had the comfort grips and ergonomic handles which made it easier to pick up, alas having to use both hands though, to pour liquids or scoop out food. This frying pan doesn't have rounded sides like my older pan, and I don't know how easy it will be to use a spatula, so I'll post something if there's any issues when I begin using the pan. I've enjoyed my Calphalon products in the past; they're heavy duty and they seem to last quite a while. So, because this IS Calphalon, I'll keep and use the pan, but sure wish they'd take this hint and go back to making the handles "easier to handle". Thanks!

Great Pan
I like the pan. Heat transmittance and responsiveness are very good. It's a bit heavy and with the side handle, it is difficult to flip things that are being sautéed. But the extra weight helps keep it from sliding around the cook top when stirring to that's a plus.I had an issue with the lid and Calphalon addressed it within a day of contacting. This is a very good pan. Unless you want to spend a significant about more, the price to performance ratio is very good.

Love this pan
Would be even better if it worked with Induction.

Best deep skillet
We love this skillet with lid. Like others we have they work great on the glass top stove. The heat stays more even and easy to keep clean.
