Yeti 6000x Portable Power Station for Home Emergency Use
The Yeti 6000X Portable Power Station is first-rate for home emergencies where electrical blackouts may be a reoccurring fact of life. It can keep modern refrigerators (~700 watts) Vitamix blenders (1800 watts) some microwaves ovens (~ 1400 watts), KitchenAid Deluxe mixers (~328 watts), electric blankets (~90 watts), TV’s, and Cell phones, running for days. This is possible because high wattage devices such as refrigerators, blenders, microwaves, electric blankets are not in continuous use. Refrigerators cycle on/off and are not a constant electrical draw. The Yeti is silent and does not disturb the neighbors at night which is a common complaint about gasoline generators. The Yeti is used inside the home and does not produce dangerous fumes.Naturally, during an emergency situation where electrical power is off for several days or a week, you will have to limit home usage of appliances and devices. There are some major home appliances, however, that may require continuous or high wattage power that will deplete the Yeti 6000x in a short time such as window air conditioning units, clothes dryers and washing machines, central air conditioning/heating. The Yeti will run most small fans, however, that have low wattage demands, continuously for days to circulate air throughout an average home or apartment. Some standby generators such as Generac and other brands may be a better option for some but those generators require butane/propane gas to operate and may not be an option in many cities or for apartment dwellers. Many cities simply will not allow large propane tanks to be placed in backyards if piped gas lines are not available. The one major drawback of the Yeti 6000x is that it takes 12 hours of electrical AC wall power to recharge it to 100% capacity. Although solar panels can help mitigate this disadvantage to some extent because you can charge the Yeti by solar while at the same time power some device that is plugged into it. This will allow an individual to keep the Yeti’s internal charge from falling below 60 percent in many cases. It can also be charged from a vehicle with a Goal Zero proprietary 12-volt charger, but that takes forever! The simple truth is that life is a trade-off and there is no simple solution for electrical emergency power that will satisfy everyone. The Yeti 6000x will serve most purposes if conservation is used on most high-wattage appliances. It will keep things functioning in an orderly fashion until power is restored.

It is 106 lbs, not so easy to lift, but it does roll.
Works great. Easy to use. We used it outside with our pea sheller. Take your power anywhere. Fully charges in 12 hrs.

Total output and ability to backup home power
Very nice unit but needs but needs better wheels and axle to light

Power when electricity goes out.
It gets pretty cold when the power to our home is lost. We plug our gas fireplace fan into the Yeti and have plenty of warmth until the power comes back on. It can supply continuous power for about 3.5 days. We only plug the freezer in for short durations to conserve power. The yeti is the best investment for us.

Very impressive
We have had a gas generator in case of a power failure, it’s so loud and it has to be run outside so we worry it could be stolen by someone that hears it running. This new solar generator can stay inside the house it’s quiet and doesn’t get in the way. Once it’s charged you just find a good place and leave it plugged into your house. It’s so quiet you forget it’s here. You can charge it in your house, with your car battery or using the solar panels that come with it. The solar panels are sturdy and easily fold away when you don’t need them. Yeti did another great job with this generator it’s easy to set up, it’s easy to charge and we feel confident when the power outages happen, not if but when that Yeti will get us through the outages.

Does not look new!
I received this yesterday with very little charge almost empty and dusty. How can a brand new generator inside a box be dusty? Of course I’m gonna keep it because I got a good deal on it but if you get a deal, expect it not to be new, I honestly believe it has been used some way or another.

super excited for gramps!!
We live out in the country and gramps just got a c-pap. He also doesn't have auxiliary heat, just electric) so if the power goes off it gets cold at his house and while he is welcome at ours next door he prefers his own bed. We can keep this charged up for him so he can use it when the power goes out.Seller was quick to ship even during the holidays.
