Bosmere N652 Lawn Scarifier

It is difficult to use being very heavy to push. On the second occasion that it was used, several of the tines came loose making it useless. I attempted to purchase an optional handle, but my order and cheque were returned by Royal Mail, saying that the firm had “”Gone Away”

Needs a T bar handle as standard. Without T Bar left me with blisters on the palm of my hand. But, as an inexpensive tool, it was great for removing thatch

I bought the scarifier as using a spring-tine rake was getting tiring. It's well made and is certainly much easier to use but that's because it doesn't really do the job very well. It just sort of skips over the moss but doesn't pull it out much. I think it might be more effective if my grass was shorter but I can't mow it closer as the lawn's too rough. I'll still use it a bit but I think I could have done better.

Good price,certainly gets the moss up from your lawn.I do wish however that I had gone for a powered version as at my age it is VERY hard work..?? Especially on a big lawn.Good tool however.

I have a decent sized yard, but not big enough to justify hiring a lawn service. My yard is large enough that it is a full day of raking to dethatch the yard. I looked all over the place to find a dethatch attachment for my cub cadet walk behind. I couldn't find any product that would attach to my mower so I ended up going with this. I figured it was a decent price if it saves my back and time right? Wrong, very wrong. This thing is a joke. It barely even touches the dead thatch in the yard. This would be a great product if it was sold as a children's toy. My recommendation, do not waste your time as I have, and either find another product or bust out the regular old yard rake. Bosmere should be ashamed of themselves for selling this product.

This product was a complete disaster. I cut my lawn down to a reasonable length and then applied the tool. I have Kentucky Blue and Creeping Red Fescue. It did not scratch, lift, scar, or even move one piece of thatch from my lawn. In the end I used a thatch rake which was more work and took more time but the quality of the job was superior. Maybe it would work on another type of lawn or soil but I doubt it! I was hoping the Bosmere tool would save me time and effort but it did neither. I wasted a little more than a $100 and haven't had time to find out if I can get a refund. In my opinion it is a complete waste of money.

The item broke the first time I tried to use it. It took me longer to put it together than it took for the part to break. I'm glad that I did not buy it as a new item.
