Nice whistle for the price
Very nice-playing and attractive little tin whistle. It has a bit more heft to it than most mass-produced whistles of the Generation / Feadog / Walton design (plastic mouthpiece on a cylindrical body); it's comparable in appearance & weight to a Feadog Pro D, but with a slightly different mouthpiece design than the Pro D. It does get a bit screechy & scratchy toward the top end of the 2nd octave, but not abominably so. It will make a nice addition to my collection, and I'll probably also get the C version. Whistle on, my friends.

Two octaves, Soprano and Alto. Great for Hymns and old traditional songs.
It is amazing! It can be tuned with a guitar tuner by finding the chords for a song, playing the chord with guitar, and tuning the nearest note to the right key, so that the lowest note is D and the top three holes covered position is G. And it covers two octaves! Great for Soprano and Alto lines, bass and tenor are a little low for this bright cheery pennywhistle!

Very nice sound.
This unit has a very nice tone. I have a Clarke Sweetone and the Oak Classic is noticeably cleaner sounding. It is also made of tubing with no seam down the back like the Clarke has, so it seems a bit less cheap. I am just starting to learn so can't really comment much on playability. The Sweetone was recommended by experts as it supposedly is easier to get some notes, and I am noticing that some, but I do like the sound of the Oak much better. Four stars for possible note challenges yet to be confirmed.

Best of the three cheap whistles I tried.
I wanted to start playing whistle so I ordered this oak, a feadog, and a generation. This one has the best tone. The feadog is second.

Best of the Cheap Options
As far as cheap whistles go, this thing feels sturdy, sounds decent, and is just so dang affordable. I'm not entirely sure what it is that makes it sound slightly better than all the other "good but cheap" options, but it definitely does (given you're playing it correctly of course haha).

One Sexy Whistle
The look of this whistle are amazing. My two little Oaks (C and now D) make all of my other whistles look bad. The mouthpieces are perfect. Compared to Clarke's Original D whistle, this Oak is a lot louder and a bit squeakier, but you learn to control that with practice. The Clarke has a much more sweet sound, but I always find myself picking up the Oak to practice and perform.4 stars for the initial squeakiness when starting out (but that got a lot better with practice). Also, I was able to pop the C whistle's mouthpiece off for tuning quite easily, but my little D has been giving me some trouble. I know that isn't an "intended" feature of this product, but it's nice when it works out. I just suppose the amount of glue used varies by individual whistle, maybe warmer water will help.

Sounds fantastic!
This little whistle is great. The price can't be beat and the sound is phenominal. Pick one up, you won't regret it.

Beautiful Sounding and Clean Playing Tin Whistle!
This Oak Tin Whistle is wonderful. It plays much easier and cleaner than my brass Feadog. Beautiful tone. I am VERY happy with this purchase. Thanks Sam Ash for being a great seller!

It’s light to hold, and well made! Really chuffed with it!
Love the feel to it. I’m a beginner, so it’s more than adequate for me.
