Q: Hey people, I am thinking about using this on my skylight, the heat and sun disintegrate the weather stripping!!!!

This gasket will work for heat transfer but won’t stop moisture from entering. Won’t stop water if your gasket is for that.

Q: Can i use this gasket on the stove glass.

If you mean wood stove glass, then yes. Make sure the glass is clean and dry. When apply it, center it on the edge of the glass and fold to two halves of the gasket over onto the front and back sides of the glass.

Q: Does this replace the rope gasket or is this gasket made for certain wood stoves?

We have a very old wood stove and I don't know a make or model; however it was relatively easy to replace the rope gasket with this product. We took the glass out of the stove door, pulled the old gasket out, removed and cleaned the glass, put this replacement gasket on - basically peel off the tape, place the middle of the replacement gasket on the glass edge and then press it down on both sides - and then reinsert the glass into the door.
