The media could not be loaded. July 2024: FYI: We have had this unit with no issues for almost a year. Having said that, we found that the electrical plug that plugs into the unit had worked itself loose so there was no electrical connection. Just something to be aware of if the generator stops generating.Nov. 2023: Just installed this EC 20 salt chlorinator which replaced our Pentair Intellichlor IC40 which had given up it's salt generating ghost. Other than having to track down someone who could tell me which wires go where into the house wiring, this was a very easy replacement. Took me all of about 30 minutes. The wiring on our Pentair System is red, black, and green. The IC20 is blue, red, and yellow/green. Just so everyone knows the yellow/green is ground (our green) and the blue hooks up to the black wire and the red hooks into the brown wire. I used the same wiring that came into our Pentair box (220v olts) so the IC 20 would come on at the same time as the timer on our pool pump. The IC 20 adapter takes from 100-220 volts and steps it down to the voltage required for the IC 20 unit. You can see wiring in the pictures. Plus using the Pentair box also protects the wiring from the elements. You could also simply get a 110 volt ac plug and plug it into a wall socket. The reason I gave this a 4 rating instead of a 5 rating was because there is no wiring diagram in the manual, which is inexplicable to me as the rest of the diagrams in the manual as well as the other instructions are really quite good. The IC20 unit is warranted for 10 years although I can find no documentation on registering the warranty. Further, this unit cost us a little over $320 while a replacement Pentair IC 40 was over $1200. The PVC for my system is 2" while the PVC for the IC 20 is 1/5". I simply used a flexible 2" coupling to tie the PVC and the IC 20 together. Easy and they do not leak. Hope all this helps.

Working well but not a direct replacement for Pentair's
First, this is not a direct replacement from the Pentair because this one produce only 20g of CL while the Pentair is 27g. Also, pipe size is different from 2in to 1.5in, no big deal adapters are included. The power supply is NOT weather proof. You need to protect it (from the manual) . Also, the Chlorinator housing is transparent plastic and not weather resistant and will likely to be destroy by UV, rain, wind. It needs to be protected with a cover (I printed one with PETG).So far, it does produce enough chlorine for my 15k Gallons pool in Florida by running about 7 hours a day.Price is very attractive and seller warranty for 10 years as the manufacturer warranty is unknown.Future will tell.I have hooked it on a Shelly WIFI switch so it works at the same time as the pump otherwise it produce a terrible alarm...

Pretty easy to install- happy so far
I just received this and it is working out of the box. The good: the price was significantly less than the Hayward and Pentair salt chlorinators. As I said, it worked out of the box. Also, significantly less bulky than the Hayward system I am replacing. The electric hook up was easy as it takes both 110 and 220 volt inputs. The coupler fits 1.5 inch PVC so that was an easy buy at local box store. The bad: it is not a direct replacement for the t-15 Hayward cell. The Hayward t-15 had a 2inch pipe and coupler and the retaining nuts did not fit, thus some PVC work is required. Second, if you are using a variable speed pump, when the pump slows down, it stops producing (this is expected for low flow). However, there is an audible alarm that goes off until flow is restored (so there will be incessant beeping). The work around is either increase your pump speed, or hook chlorinator up to a timer that only powers it during high pump speeds. Third, the power cord is long from the source to the step down transformer, but short from step-down transformer to cell (making wall mounting impossible for my use). I had to figure out a different install to protect it. The indifferent: On product page, says 10 year warranty. In documentation, no warranty listed and no contact listed to claim any warranty. I would really like to get the warranty information in the event it is ever needed.
