*Cute, sturdy, nice size owl mug!!* (Just be aware the "Beige" mug is more of a "Mustard Yellow.")
I remember seeing owl mugs like this as a kid & I always thought they were neat, unique, & a bit kooky in a fun & eclectic way & I've always wanted one for some reason! :) They just remind me of growing up in the 70's & I like the handmade feel to them & their cute, wide-eyed owl expressions! :DThis mug is well made & nicely painted for the most part. I like the handle on it with its added "feather bump" & the added "points" on the top sides of the mug to give it more of a "feathered owl" appearance. They eyes are very well done & evenly painted on my mug & my only complaint is that the feathers on the front & sides of owl & its eyes are more of a "brownish mustard yellow" color & not a "tan/light brown" color as it appears in the ad's photos for the "Beige" owl. So just be aware of that if you're looking more for a "tan/brown" colored owl. The "Beige" owl mug is actually mostly a "mustard yellow" type of color instead of tan/brown.I would've much preferred the "Beige" owl to be more tan/brown instead of "mustard yellow" in order to better match my decor, but I still like him anyways! It really probably shouldn't be called "Beige" though...it really isn't beige or tan or light brown in color...it should instead be called the color it much more resembles which is more of a "Mustard Yellow" in my opinion. Which is still a very nice shade & I do like him still & the color is growing on me actually, the longer I look at him lol.(I would've gotten the "Brown" owl mug, but I thought the "Beige" one was going to have more shades of tan/light brown in it with the dark brown eyes, so that's why I chose the "Beige" owl & because I liked his eyes best out of all the owls, but just be aware that the only real "brown" color on the "Beige" owl mug is the outside circle of his eyes is a dark brown. His handle & the back of the mug & top of the mug are more of a grayish color too than brown, so the lighting in the ad's photos don't really accurately reflect the true colors of the "Beige" owl is all, unfortunately But like I said, that's alright really, for my use of it...I still think he's a lovely mug & I like the shading done on his front "feathers" & he's a very unique item & color to say the least! :DI just wanted to make other customers aware of the color difference from the ad's photos before they purchase an expensive mug, in case they may wish to choose a different color! :) It's a good sized, thick mug & seems quite durable & it stands very sturdily, & the handle is thick & comfortable for grasping with plenty of room to fit even large fingers inside of the handle to grasp it. I'm going to use the mug as a decorative piece in my home rather than drinking out of it so I don't risk breaking it (since I recently broke 2 of my glass mugs dropping them while washing them, duh!)Overall, I think this is a quite nice gift for an owl lover even if they don't drink coffee/tea...it can be used as a decorative piece anywhere in a home for holding pens/pencils/markers, or for putting potpourri in it, or a little fake plant/fake flowers in it, etc. It's definitely a cute item for owl enthusiasts! :)

Super Cute Owl!
If you're a fan of owls, this is an adorable coffee mug! I selected the "Cyan" version and what arrived was much more colorful than simply brown and blue... it has more of a purple undertone which looks quite nice! However, it really doesn't look just like the photos in the listing which may be a disappointment for some. For me though, it was a pleasant surprise! As you can see in the photos, this definitely appears to be handmade and is a bit wonky in some areas. For instance, the eyes aren't fully aligned and the colors are patchy in some places. Although I happen to like these imperfections for the "handmade" charm, I can also understand how some people would be disappointed in what arrives compared to what they ordered. The ceramic mug itself is much lighter and a bit smaller than I expected. The interior glaze shows there isn't any "filling" to make the cup smooth on the inside; there are bumps and valleys where the owl was sculpted to form. This may make hand-washing the interior a bit more difficult than your standard coffee mug! But I personally think the charm of the design outweighs the negatives there. Even though the listing states it's dishwasher safe, I'm tempted to hand wash after each use to maintain the charm and keep it looking great! The ceramic itself isn't very heavy, so I'm not sure how sturdy it will be over time. It already feels like it may break if handled without care, but no issues so far! Just know it's a very light and adorable piece that you may not want to make your daily cup! It's attractive enough in person though, I'm more inclined to keep in on my desk as a pencil holder. Highly recommended!

Really really cute, beige is exactly my jam.
I think the size on this mug feels smaller than I anticipated from the listing, but I'm not mad at it. It's really cute, and does really match the product description well. I feel like there were all kinds of ways for this to have gone wrong, fortunately the mug I received was well detailed, intact. Maybe the detail feels a little flat vs. examples? Glaze looks thicker on the chest. Nothing deal breaking. With stoneware/ceramic glazes, one of my favorite things is the translucency you get with the different styles, the side picture of the beige owl being a really good example, at the base of the head and around the wing, how the blue shade gathers and fades... my mug looks basically exactly like that, I'm thrilled. The overall finish is great, size is great for me (I split a 18oz teapot with my partner nightly), the base is stable, feels pretty sturdy (as much as a ceramic mug can) is really comfortable in the hand, the odd shape makes it really grip-able from basically any angle. It's kind of funny, one of the other reviewers mentioned this reads more mustard than the image shown, I wouldn't have thought that... I'm not sure. Comparing in real life vs. the product images I do feel it was pretty well represented, permitting for camera and display variances. Maybe I wouldn't call it beige either, but also looking at my mustard yellow duvet cover I don't think it's quite that either. I'm not sure. (I should mention the attached image was taken with an iPhone which generally shifts slightly green?)Any which way I think this is a great value for the price. Presently at just shy of $13 it's probably one of my most affordable mugs I have kicking around, would make a great gift for owl people. I think it's a steal for the quality and novelty.

It's small than I expected
The coffee mug is smaller than most coffee mugs. It is very attractive but is very small. Not what I expected.
