Best. Game. Ever.
If you're a fan of solo board games or love horror movies, Final Girl by Van Ryder Games is an absolute masterpiece. Honestly, it's the best game I've ever played! The theme is spot-on, immersing you completely in the terrifying world of a slasher film. From the moment you set up the game, it feels like you’ve stepped into a classic horror movie. The tension is real, the stakes are high, and every decision feels meaningful. The modular system is genius. Being able to mix and match different “Final Girls” and killers with various locations keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting. No two games feel the same, and I keep discovering new strategies and surprises each time I play. What I love most is the level of storytelling it offers. Every playthrough is like your own personal horror movie, filled with twists and turns. The mechanics are simple to grasp but layered enough to keep you engaged for hours. It’s strategic, nerve-wracking, and incredibly rewarding when you finally outsmart the killer and survive.Van Ryder Games has truly outdone themselves with the production quality. The components are stunning, from the beautifully designed boards to the detailed miniatures. It’s clear a lot of love and thought went into creating this game.I cannot recommend Final Girl enough. Whether you’re a solo gamer, a horror enthusiast, or someone who just loves a game with high replayability, this is a must-have for your collection. Trust me—you won't regret it.

Best solo game and board game.
The core set has everything you need to start playing (one feature film is also required). Components are well made and the company is amazing. Highly recommend the game. If you decide to, join the Van Ryder Game Discord channel. It’s a wonderful community.

One of the best Solo Games out there.
This is one of the best solo games out there. The barrier for entry is pretty low as well. Once you get the core box, then you can get the feature film boxes one at a time as you want/need them, and with a 3rd season coming soon there is a bounty of content. And being able to mix/match the locations and killers makes the replay ability outstanding. The quality is great. The boxes are exactly the size needed, and the fact that you save space and material with the box doubling as the playing boards is really clever. The cards are a decent thickness, the components are all nice. It's just a really well designed and well manufactured game. And don't be afraid, the boards are made to bend at the seam, so you can fold it back so it lays flat when playing. I think it would take a lot of rough bending to damage them. The theme is wonderful too. It's very evocative, and is certainly challenging. I played the Hans/Camp one and lost twice as I learned the rules, won the third time (but realized I'd made a few errors that made it easier on me) lost a fourth and then won a fifth and sixth. And I had a blast each time. Even re-playing the same combination of killer/location feels different after a few plays.I just can't express enough how much I love this game. But I love it so much I gave my copy of this core set and the handful of locations I have to a friend, because I went and backed the season 3 Kickstarter to get all 3 seasons all-in with all the minis and upgrades--the most I have ever spend on a board game. And I don't regret a cent. If you're on the fence, just get it!

A fun game
A bit fun, but not as much as the hyped reviews. Far better is Dawn of the Zeds, and Plum Island.

Great Solo Game
I love collecting board games, but sometimes I don't have enough people to play the other board games I have. This game not only falls under the type of games I enjoy but also is a game I don't need to find others to play. It is very simple and has plenty of replayability as well as plenty of variability.

FINALly, a real game for one!
Final Girl is a wonderful game! It’s so nice to have a true made for one player game. If you’re looking at this you probably already know this is the base part of the game. You need to buy feature films (the camp one is best for beginners) to play. It is addictive and fun to play and add to your collection. It did take me a bit of time to become comfortable with playing and I was lucky to have a friend show me how. It can be intimidating to start but don’t worry, it gets better!

Great game, but this is the core box only.
If you like horror and you like board gaming, this is an awesome option! This is just the base pieces and set. You need to purchase additional feature films to actually be able to play. I went with Camp Happy Trails with Hans the Butcher. Many times I've come close to getting him only to come up short on a dice roll. I recommend watching a YouTube tutorial to get started...but fun and fear abound!

Get this!
This core box has almost everything you need to play Final Girl. You need to buy the “feature films” games to actually play. I bought this to pair with Camp Happy Trails and now, for Poltergeist and the one with the big bad wolf. A great game with all the fixin’s.
