Goodfellas - The Film Vault Range [4K Ultra HD] [1990]

Brilliant movie, but there is lots of violence

One of my fav films ever, was excited to get this "seemingly" deluxe version with the amazing packaging. First package arrived damaged, Amazon made good on it. New package arrived, great condition. But then I watched their film. 4K and blu ray. 4k is just ok, a lot of orange, and red over-saturation which doesn't enhance it, it just looks strange. But not a benefit. But I was OK, knowing that 4k is generally ONLY a change in the saturation of certain colors. Then I watched the blu ray, and WAS and AM shocked. The BLU RAY is the OLD version of the film, with the defect that was noticeable in the first blu ray release. In the sequence where Paul and Jimmy speak to Henry about going back to his wife, that black line running right down the center is CLEARLY visible. Right down the center as DeNiro as Jimmy speaks, it's impossible to miss (and was spoken of many times as a defect when the first film came out). UNBELIEVABLE. When WB did a 25th year enhancement they corrected that (as I have that copy) and yet this cheap assed set..( costing over 50 pounds) went so far as to give us the original, poor print of the film. With the defect clearly showing. This appears to be outright fraud on the distributor of this, the Film Vault. How could you do this? Disgraceful, disgusting, fraudulent. Oh yes, it's a blu ray, but they're crappy non remastered version. I am furious and contacting AMAZON as soon as I finish this message. They should be ashamed, but they won't be getting away with it. It is being returned for a full credit and I will not even pay for the postage to return it from the USA. This will be Amazon's responsibility, and trust me when I tell all of you, this will be done this way. I am not going to be duped and neither should any of you. I don't think Amazon is to blame for this, it's the crummy manufacturer who is over charging, acting as if they're giving us something special whilst dumping old trash onto us. Oh, and as for another set from Film Vault, it appears they've done the same thing...this is "Scarface", old blu ray with defects and a 4k with over saturation. Disgraceful. I can only say to any ALL of you, if you have bought these items and have any question, def contact Amazon immediately. This is unacceptable. I would also be curious to see if anyone else got there same crappy blu ray as I did with the obvious poor print. I find it hard to believe I could be the only one, so, any feedback appreciated. But a WARNING about these item under the Film Vault collection..they think they are special, nice bees, a few extras, numbered boxes, but they are giving us old materials and charging a massive price. I am disgusted beyond belief.

Not a lot to say about this classic except well worth the purchase

One of the greatest films of all time, now available in a stunning 4k presentation loving housed within an amazing Hardcase package. A must own.

If you know the film, cast etc you'll know it's a classic.

First time that I have bought any version of this classic mafia film since watching the original cinema release. This is not a 4K restoration so the UHD version is not much better than the 1080p Blu Ray. Unfortunately this means that it's not worth buying this UHD version. Still a great film to watch, however.
