Excellent story and illustrations. We’ve read this book with our kids countless times and reading it on the beach with jelly donuts is an annual, family tradition. Looking forward to passing this book onto our grandkids someday.

This is a darling book that has a great message. I read it to my 3-year-old grandson's class, and the kids were mesmerized. For kids who are at the age of trying to figure out "bad guys" and monsters, this book shows that it's not about what you look like but how you see yourself and how you act that make the difference. Love it!

A monster book for my monster girls. As usual, a heart warming story that teaches little monster the value of stopping and smelling the bakeries. Beautiful book.

What a fun book to read to the kids in our library. They really seem to enjoy it. A good book for anyone's library.

Mutts artist Patrick McDonnell has such a wry, sweet wit... and amazing drawing style. This is one of my two-year-old's favorites. The three little monsters feel the need to prove their monster-ness with all sorts of bad behaviors, like terrible tantrums. But, the monster they decide to build to prove their awfulness is so thankful to be alive it's contagious. It's sweet, funny, poignant and fun.

This has hit among the top of our favorite children's books! My almost five year-old son belly laughs in anticipation every time I approach reading a "Dank You!" and I enjoy the sweet sentiments throughout the story. My husband was a big fan of Mutts, which is how I decided on purchasing it as my son's Christmas book - definitely a good choice.

Love love love this book. Kids are interested in monsters as main characters. Mom is interested in anti-labeling message that encourages readers to be themselves and BE KIND

Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Buch - für Kleine und Grosse. Man achte besonders auf die Details in den mit viel Liebe gezeichneten Figuren.

I call my daughter "monster" (affectionately), so she really enjoyed this story of three little monsters who learn from a big monster that being polite and friendly is more fun than scaring people.
