Bulldog Cases Hybrid 40-Inch Black Tactical Shotgun Case

Nice case. Purchased for a scoped Mini-14 (38" overall length) & the interior length of the bag is basically perfect at roughly 38.5". I like that the case material is nylon rather than less-sturdy polyester, so it should hold up very well. I also like that it is basically very plain and not likely to draw attention (would be better still if available in innocuous colors like blue, but black is fine). It's discreet enough and will not make you look like a tactical ninja. Has a good handle, strap and both interlocking zipper sliders and large zipper pulls that can be locked together with a larger shackle than the sliders themselves--helpful in my case because a lock is a legal requirement.I'm giving it four stars rather than five for only two reasons:1) Price.For what it is, there's really no reason this bag should cost as much as it does. But I paid the $ so shame on me. Still, I need it so I'm happy to have it.2) Hardware. The rings and clips that hold the backstrap are very thin and are at best zinc alloy or, possibly, ABS plastic. Can't quite tell. As I'm unlikely to be lugging more than 10 pounds in this case, this PROBABLY won't be a problem. However, IMO at this price the company could/should have used brass or steel. I hate having to worry about weak parts breaking, and the thin pin connecting the clip to its swivel does worry me a bit. But then there is always the handle and a different strap could be attached easily to replace the original.Ultimately, I would recommend this bag to carry a rifle of viable length, but I'd avoid packing it with ammo or other heavy extras.

Using it for a Savage Arms Stevens 320 pistol grip 12ga shotgun. A snug fit and I don't think anything longer would fit. Well padded and constructed. Heavy duty zipper moves smoothly. The two interior pockets seem to be a bit pointless as they take up much of the interior and I will likely remove one. Would be better situated along the edge rather than the central axis towards either end of the case. Interior straps would be a bonus so the shotgun could be stored disassembled, I'll probably add some later. Case zipper locks with a very small suitcase lock. Enough room inside for safety glasses and ear muffs.

This case is very well padded on the front, back, and bottom edge. However, on the 3 side edges where the zipper runs, there is no padding at all so a bump or drop on any of those 3 un-padded edges could cause damage.

It's a tight fit, but otherwise perfect fit for my Mossberg 590 Tactical 20GA. For reference, my guns has a short stock & 20"barrel, it measures 381/2" long, so this is snug, but I like the way it fits, no flopping around & there's room for shells. The bag is nicely made, feels more substantial & sturdy than others soft sided bags I looked at. A really good value & with no obvious markings or tags, I like it even more. I'd recommend this product.

Decent case, but not ideal for my modified Winchester Defender 1300 (see photos). There are two pockets sewn inside that can hold extra ammo, but it doesn't look like they were meant for shotgun shells. For shells, you have to skip every other slot. When I put shells in them, it makes the bag thicker because of where the pockets align with the sidesaddle on my ATI stock. I can see how this case can be good for other setups, though, just not mine.The internal pockets are also ideal for a small cleaning kit, but not much else. Fit-wise, my 36" end-to-end Winchester fit just fine with plenty of room for my tactical light. Too bad there aren't any straps to help keep my gun from moving around inside the case, something that I have seen with similarly priced cases.I really like how the shoulder strap hooks, rings, and zippers are metal. The zippers are lockable.

Fits a Remington 870 18.5" Express nicely though anything longer would be tight. Pockets on the inside are a bit weird, but they are functional ... and if you are into locking your case, they allow you to secure the pocket contents as well.No retaining straps for shotgun to keep it in place, but putting stuff in the internal pockets allow you to position the barrel so the pockets essentially keep the shotgun in place with little shifting.Case has stiff(ish) external panels for extra protection, and the tag states it will float if the firearm within is 10 lbs or less. I don't plan on testing this feature. ;-)

Well made and good product.I received it folded which compromised the "stiff" sides of the item.Why fold a stiff sided bag instead of a long box to keep it flat? ( Cheaper!)The Shoulder sling was cut almost in half as well. How could it have been sent out that way??...I can't believe someone cut it during shipping!Also...too short inside because I assumed the stated length was the inside but not so...My problem!

I've looked at a lot of cases for my Mossberg 500 and this one is by far the best. The material is great quality with two good size pouches inside that both have stretchy holders for a good amount of shells. One of my favorite features is the two zippers that a small lock can be used. Also the material is heat resistant and has not melted or showed any wear yet. The only thing I wish it came with was two velcro straps to hold the shotgun in place.
