Love this pan
This pan is really smooth and great to cook in. It has all of that metal inside the bottom of the pan and produces a nice, even heat all over. It's a little heavy, but that's to be expected with a pan of this size. The handle doesn't get hot, and that's a good thing. I love cooking chicken dishes in this, or frying bread or sandwiches. This pan cleans up nice, even on the bottom, and I especially appreciate that the bottom surface is stainless steel and not aluminum, as aluminum bottoms mark up my cutting board and my counter, which is a pain to clean up. Great product, beautiful design. Worth the money.

Good cooking tools for your kitchen
Love the Calphalon cookware line. I recently purchased an induction stove and needed to add a few pieces of cookware. I already have their deep-frying pan and knew I wanted a stock pot from the same line. Much less heavy and easier for me to handle than my French cast iron porcelain cookware. It's also slightly larger than my 6 qt cast iron, the extra depth is nice for when I make larger quantities of food. Wonderful stainless steel that cleans up like a breeze. The glass lids allow you to keep an eye on your cooking. The handles are large enough to make handling with oven mitts easy and secure. Well worth the investment, these will last a lifetime.

wonderful saucier
I really like this pan.it's a good weight and size.unlike some other reviews, I really like the glass lid. I often use this pan to pop corn (perfect size for 1/4 cup of kernels and 1 T coconut oil) and become the lid is clear you can watch it!

Nice saucepan but VERY HEAVY for it's size
Nice looking pot, cooks well...but very heavy. Handle is very long, adding to the weight. I find pouring soup out of the pot is hard on the wrist. I find it a bit expensive for 2.5 L pot.

Typical Calphalon...excellent!
I have the complete premier collection, but I noticed that the pans are all shallow. I prefer deeper pans for boiling pasta, making sauces, and so on. I looked around for something deeper in the collection and came across this pan. It must be a late addition to the collection. Anyway, I bought it and I've come to really appreciate it. It's definitely deep and it comes with a strainer lid. If you don't know what that is, there is a permanently attached band of metal (an inch and a half or so tall) below the glass disk of the lid that's perforated on two sides. You can rotate the lid so that the perforations align with the pour spouts in the pan and then simply pour out the liquid while retaining the food inside the pan without removing the lid. That means you don't need a collandar. You'll never get a good seal due to the pour spouts leaving a little gap between the lid and the pan when you don't use the perforated sections of the lid, but I still steam vegetables with it without any problems. Like the other Calphalon pots and pans I now own, this pan is very sturdy, distributes heat very well, and is surprisingly easy to clean. I highly recommend it.
