501482 Carefresh Ultra Premium Soft Bedding

When we bought our hamster in Aug 2015 this was the go to product. And it was. Low dust. Fluffy, pure. It was great. WARNING IT IS NOT THE SAME ANYMORE! This bedding is now loaded in paper dust and also has cotton like fibers. Cotton/stranded fibers can constrict appendages of small animals and the dust can cause allergic or respiratory problems in small animals. We recently noticed our syrian hamster with an eye being kept closed. It took a while to figure out the cause until we finally saw a very tiny fiber strand over his eyelids. It happened sporadically until we changed his bedding. This review would have been an update of a previous 5 star review but that listing of this product has since been removed. Please if you love your hamster, find better bedding.
