An Absolutely Wonderful Product! Totally worth the price!
This set of Pencils are absolutely worth the price. I am not an expert artist, But, These pencils are a beauty to behold, from the moment you open the Tin You can just see the quality, I love that I dont have to squint to see the labeling, Its 100 percent comfortable to the eyes, The colors are amazing, and i have so many favorites already. Colors that ive never seen before. The Pencils come in blending order, Not color family order which honestly i like.. Im new at blending so this really helps! I have tried them on Black and White Canson Mixed Media Paper and Bee Watercolor paper, and they show up so beautifully! They came presharpened so i didnt have to spend extra time sharpening 120 pencils.. yikes!, They seem a bit weighted compared to my other pencils but im betting that that contributes to its Durability. They seem very solid has a soft touch to them. The Gold on the bottom of the pencil is gorgeous in my opinion! I absolutely recommend these fun to use media! They also come with a swatch paper as well, on the opposite side is a chart that lets you know what the letters and numbers mean as well! If you are looking for a wonderful set of pencils.. Get these!... Seriously! The ONLY Negative thing i will comment is that the plastic holders inside the tin are very flimsy but does not take away from the quality of the pencils and for that Im ok with!

Incredibly beautiful
I have used both oil and wax colored pencils for years and I have to say that this set of Star Joy Gold oil pencils is absolutely amazing!Pros:Affordable! To find a set of pencils, at the level these are, for this price is truly incredible. I own some expensive oil pencil sets and these Star Joy Gold pencils have them beat.Long lasting! Properly sharpening these pencils gives one such pleasure for a very long time. I've been using them for consecutive coloring pages, testing them on different types of paper and my pencils still look like they are new. A couple quick twists with a M&R handheld sharpener and I have a sharp point that goes on and on. I've never had a pencil keep a good point for as long as these do!Richly pigmented! Oil pencils require a light hand and build up depth of color over multiple layers, it takes a little more time, but the results are worth it. I'm seeing a rich color after just a few layers. With oil pencils, there is no wax bloom, so I can get a beautiful effect quickly.Definitely a huge bang for the bucks. Star Joy Gold pencils are harder than the Faber Castell Poloychromos and the Delhi pencils, but smooth and not scratchy at all. I also own Schripperre Farbern oils and those are a bit scratchy.Works well, even on Amazon paper! Yes! I have used my Star Joy Gold pencils on Amazon paper, Johanna Brasford books, and cardstock so far. No matter which paper I have used to color, I am able to get very close to each other results!!!! This particular advantage is amazing for those who enjoy finding new blends that will work the same on different types of paper. Nothing can be more disappointing than to use a combination of pencils on one page and have it be a bit different on another.Clearly marked, named and numbered! No lacquer over the printing on the pencils helps see names and numbers clearly. I had one pencil with no printing, but I didn't take a point off due to being able to identify it easily. The pencils are arranged in color family, jewel tones, muted/pastel tones, skin tones, color corrector for skin tones and grey shades. There is no white, but using a Prismacolor white pencil is perfect for tint. The colors in this Star Joy Gold set compliments and completes every other set out there. The color possibilities are endless.Packaged well for shipping! With Amazon's new thin plastic bag shipping concerns have arisen for many but, the Star Joy Gold pencils are packaged in a manner to protect! The sharpened pencils have blunted tips for shipping protection. A blunt tip during shipping keeps the tips from breaking. A layer of padding helps to keep the pencils from moving around in the tin during shipping. The tin container is sturdy and protective. All is placed in a plastic bag and then a cardboard sleeve. My tin arrived in perfect condition.Comes with a color chart! I prefer to use a larger chart than what came with the Star Joy Gold pencils, as I have a binder containing color charts for all my coloring mediums, (no, you can not have too many!), and I like having all of them having the same size and look...yes I'm OCD with my coloring charts, supplies, etc. The chart that comes with the set is also a little harder for me to read, eyes are aging.Cons:The tray grabs are shallow and I have some difficulty getting a good hold. I keep my nails short, so someone who has longer nails may wish to transfer the pencils into a storage case immediately. As I have no more space for pencil cases, (I highly recommend BTSKY pencil cases!!!!), The tin is more than adequate protection and fits in my drawer on my cases of other pencils. One pencil lacked printing on the barrel. No deduction taken taken. Simple human error in this matter and I am able to identify it easily.Recommended highly for everyone who is beginning, intermediate and more advanced colorist.Recommended highly for price and quality.Excellent gift for others.Tutorials for using, sharpening and color combos available on YouTube@ ColorMyWorld

Great set of pencils
I love colored pencils and have a lot of them. So why take my Mother's Day Amazon gift certificate and buy more? The listing made these pencils look interesting enough, that I wanted to see them in person. All the pencils have numbers and color names. A chart of the pencils with their number and names along with colors is inside the top lid of the metal box that they came in. Also the swatch card had a chart of all the names and numbers as well as type of pencil and then also on the other side had spots to color in the each pencil with its name and number. The boxes for the swatches are some of the biggest I have seen so you get a nice view of the colors. The pencils come in numerical order in the tin box, held within three trays (the only thing I don't like as I like my pencils in a carrying case so I don't drop trays of pencils all over the floor). These pencils, from #1 - #54 come with three colors each in the color wheel -- red> orange red> red orange> orange> yellow orange> and so on to Violet red. The three colors in each color groupings work well together. Then you get #55 - #66 are jewel colors, #67 - #86 muted pastels, #87 - #104 skin, #105 - #110 color correctors, and last but not least #111 - #120 Gray scale. While a professional artist or at least a well trained artist, would recognize the pencils and what they represent, for those of us still learning, I like the numbering system. The colors are beautiful. Also the pencils themselves are easy to hold and the first set of pencils that I didn't need to pull out my magnifying glass to double check the number or name of the pencil. Instead of printing the number in a shiny gold color, these have their numbers and name written in black in large fonts and on a tawny background.Of all the colored pencils that I have worked with, this is the first that so much time and care have been put into the pencils and the presentation of them. I have seen more expensive pencils without even a color number much less a color name. So I find this a very refreshing change of pace. One of the colors struck me personally. At a house where I used to live I had boysenberry plants and we got about 100 quarts a year. They were a very dark purple almost black on the vine, but cook them in a pie or turn them into jelly they turned into color #49-RV Boysenberry. The colors blend well and change colors in a natural way if you are using the pencils within the color wheel. It will be interesting to try out color blends according to the color wheel and see how they blend and coordinate when coloring a picture. I know I will have a lot of fun with this pencils. I'm glad I took the chance and got them.
