Best Disposal I've bought.
Easy to install. It's Quiet. The cartridge to add chemical is just right.

Super quiet and great for septic systems
This was a good solution for us in our new house that has a septic system. We were always told you can't use a garbage disposal with septic systems, which isn't true if you use the right one. This is the right one.I was tempted to buy the top InSinkErator model - the Evolution Excel. But after contacting InSinkErator, this one is the way to go with septic systems. It has a dual blade system that pulverizes food particles into dust. It then injects a few drops of their septic solution (bacteria) down the drain to help the particles biodegrade in your septic system. This will not harm your septic system and will help all that food break down. It's the easiest disposal I've ever installed, and I did it myself without help. I got it to twist on easier than any other disposal I've used, which is saying something. Usually installing these is super frustrating! The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Make sure the exit drain from the disposal is HIGHER than the drain running out the house, or you can't have a disposal. Water flows with gravity, so if your exit drain leaving the house is higher than this one, water will just sit in your disposal and stink up your house. This is a very quiet disposal and chews up everything I put in it. I installed a push button disposal switch on top of my sink when we had our new sink installed for a clean look.It does not come with any kind of power cord. However, you can buy a dishwasher power cord at your local hardware store (HD, Lowe's) and they work perfectly. That's what I used and I had no issue. You just need an outlet under your sink (I had an electrician install one for us).Overall I'm very pleased with this disposal, and I'm glad I didn't spend more money on the Excel as it's not necessary for septic systems.

Good disposal for a specialized use
We have always had Insinkerator disposals and have never had problems. We bought this when we remodeled our kitchen. Our old one was still good and we sold it with the old sink. Our other disposal was the same size and as heavy. You will notice that on the newer sinks which don’t have centered drains that this disposal can be a bit cramped against your cabinet. Take measurements when you are buying this large of a disposal and make sure the position of your sink drain is going to accommodate the size. The sink we purchased used its own type of connector as it has a seamless drain. The regular Insinkerator bracket works great with any conventional sink and makes the installation easier. This model does not have the connection for the EZ connect plug and had to be hard wired or adapted for plug in installation with a different type of plug.

Good quality
This is second one I’ve owned, of all I have ever installed this is definitely a nice one, quiet in comparison, plenty of power along with enzyme injection for rural septic systems.

Extremely quiet
**** didn't include enzyme solution. My handyman didn't realize that until after he installed it and I asked him if he put that in he said there was nothing in the box and I verified that unfortunately now it's too late to return it** I am very excited about this garbage disposal because I thought I wouldn't be able to have one with a septic system in a 1937 farmhouse. We did have do a little creative reworking to the plumbing. The installation manual was easy to follow and I am quite pleased with it for the price.

Easy to install
I ordered the same disposal that I have had for about ten years, and wanted to replace it with the same brand. This new one is quieter than the old one and because it was the same design and size, I didn’t have to change the piping, which saved a lot of time with installation. Looking forward to the excellent performance of my old garbage disposal!

Big, Bulky, Strong and Quiet...
This thing is HUGE! Don't be deceived by the picture, it will take up a significant amount of your under-sink space. We have a double basin sink installed in a standard 24" cabinet, and have this bad boy installed in the left basin. It was too big to fit, so we had to cut the side wall out of the cabinet. Luckily, there is a void between it and the next cabinet so this was not a problem for us, but if you had a cabinet right next to your sink cabinet, you might have an issue. Shouldn't be a problem if you have a larger sink cabinet, or if you have a standard cabinet with a single basin with a drain in the center. The other challenge you'll likely have is how to connect the plumbing in such a way that you can still access the cartridge. The design has the cartridge and and the plumbing spigot on opposite sides of the unit. This means that you can either access the plumbing, or the cartridge, not both. We ended up mounting this about 45 degrees turned clockwise so that I could access the plumbing as well as replace the cartridge. The flange between the unit and sink does a good job dampening the sound, but it also does a poor job of letting air out of the top chamber. The result is some bubbling when you begin running the water. Additionally, you'll have to actively push food scraps into the hole. Not a big deal, but I know some people would prefer to just use the sprayer to wash the food down. Not gonna happen with this guy.All that said, the unit performs well. It is significantly quieter than our 11 year old former unit. When running, all you can hear is a slight hum. We've pushed celery "stubs" into the unit, and it doesn't faze it at all. It also seems to take it easy on the cartridges, so I don't expect to be spending an arm/leg on replacements. We have also noticed a reduction in "funky" smell. Time will tell if this holds true thanks to the cartridge, or if it's just the result of a "new disposal" smell. All in all, I would recommend so long as you have the free space under your sink and don't mind needing to actively push the food into the disposal.
