Size:Medium Grow-Cubes are small loose 1/2 in cubes of stonewool. Advantages are better aeration, maximum drainage so that you can hardly ever over water your plant, easy mixing with other loose media (such as expanded clay rocks or coconut fiber), lightweight and much cleaner than peat-based media. The properties of Grow-Cubes make it like a 50/50 mix of absorbent to repellent stonewool.

a fine and safe way for gardeners to grow hydroponically. and one can grow huge plants in a 3 gallon container. one that would take 10 gallons of soil to grow. I am using it right now here in CO!! so less heavy lifting. once you get the knack of hydrponics--you will see it is better than soil. but this is the "medium" between soil and hydroponics. (pun intended). i have bought about 10 boxes over the years. soak before using--and wear latex gloves as the fine glass particles can irritate the skin. don't breath it in. easy though to use.

Good but a little pricey
This is my first time trying out these cubes, so far so good. My only complain is the price, it costs way more than coco, I'd switch back if I'm not seeing too much of a difference in yield.1-2-15 Works great, I'm using 100% grow cubes in drain to waste setup, the result was fantastic.

Description and answer to first question both WRONG?!
Item says 2 cubic foot bags, case of 3. Received 1 bag of 2 cubic feet. Triple the cost of local stores! Product itself is in retail package and as expected, if you don't use rockwool you should definitely give it a shot.
