The cake is delicious and beyond expectations- the frosting didn’t stick to the wax paper at all. I think some people must have just unwrapped it while it was still warm… I put one in the fridge upon arrival and froze the others. It was fresh and tasty and just right in terms of taste and texture, comparable to Star bakery of Southfield Michigan or Schreiner’s bakery of Jerusalem. Can’t wait to order more!

I love chocolate seven layer cake from brooklyn. This cake was so dry and not tasty at all.

I remember eating Doboch Tortes as a child. They were moist and delicious. These were not. They came in a clear plastic tray (grocery store bakery held closed with a push together tab at each end) and were loosely wrapped in a piece of wax paper. I put them in by freezer minutes after they were delivered. They were in there less than 3 weeks and defrosted in refrig for 2 days. First slice was very dry, but I thought maybe it was because it was the end piece. No, 4th slice in and still dry. Will not purchase again.

Pretty good. I was trying to find something that came close to a NY bakery that made this. It's pretty close in flavor. I thought the layer frosting was going to be dark chocolate, but this is mocha. I'll order their Black & White version.

I’ve purchased this cake before for my daughter a couple of years ago. She wasn’t impressed with it. But I figured I’d try again.There was a wonderful bakery around the corner where I grew up named Stern’s. They made the best 7 layer cake. I decided to try again because I was hoping what my daughter got was just a sad delivery problem. The decorations /design of the cake in the picture is exactly like what we used to get at the bakery. So I was hoping same family owned this bakery.When I opened the box icing very soft/melting so I put in the fridge to form up. Just tried the cake. Icing stuck to the paper around the cake. Not easy to get it off without pulling the icing off. The taste and texture of the cake is almost the same. However it is very sweet. The design on the cake sure isn’t like shown in the picture, that’s what made me think same family recipe from my childhood. There are a few sprinkles embedded in the icing but the design on top not there.Would I buy it again, I’m not sure.

I love it, everything about except that it disappears too quickly!

It was just as we remembered when we would go to church and then to the bakery immediately afterwards in Queens, NY. Delicious!

Cake was dry and tasted flat. Nothing at all what I expected. Even after heating it, there was nothing interesting about the taste or texture. I gave the second one away, with trepidation.
