Wonderful set of needles for the price
This is a great deal for the price.I favor bamboo needles for my knitting mojo, and have a range of sizes (mostly Clovers). I'm relatively new to knitting, and learning to make top-down hats now, and like experimenting with different yarns and needles. I bought these instead of making a run to JoAnn's or Michael's for a specific size.I was thinking about why there is a range of reviews here, and have two ideas. One is for high-end knitters who are used to high-end needles, and maybe don't even usually use bamboo. The other is what size needles the reviewers tend to use. I tend to work with larger yarn and larger needles, and it makes sense to me that the larger sizes might be easier to make well. Each size comes in a cellophane sleeve that re-seals and works for short-term storage (but isn't very sturdy, so it will fall apart). The needles are stamped with the sizes in mm and US knitting needle size.I opened each package of needles (5 of each size) to inspect them, and to compare the sizes with my Bates Knit-Chek. Here's the sizes I received:8mm, US11, these are in great shape: smooth, pointy, strong6.5mm, US 10.5, great6mm, US 10, great5.5mm, US 9, great5mm, US 8, great55mm, US 7, acceptable; these are not all straight4mm, US 6, great3.75mm, US 5, acceptable; not all straight3.5mm, US 4, acceptable; not all straight3.25mm, US 3, acceptable; not all straight2.75mm, US 2, acceptable; not all straight2.25mm, US 1, acceptable; not all straightHaving looked at them all that way, I'm even more impressed for the price. They're all smooth and appropriately pointy. The "not entirely straight" doesn't really bother me. They're not far off, and it's not going to affect the knitting. The very small ones -- US sizes 1 and 2 -- seem like they will break easily, but I imagine that's true of any bamboo needles at those sizes.

Excellent value, good quality needles
Very smooth, dull tipped needles. I received 5 of each size, and only one or two had a minor ding that I was able to rub out with another needle. I've used them extensively with no snagging. Great for those tiny areas where magic loop just doesn't make sense. The finish on these was far better than I expected--not quite up to the Clover Takumi standard, but darn close. Can't beat the price, especially for frequently lost DPNs. They need a homing device so they are found easier inside recliners after being dropped. :D

Excellent Value
These needles are an excellent value. The points are slightly rounded at the tip, which I prefer to super sharp points. The sets I received had 3 or 4 tiny flaws on individual needles, but none even required sanding, just rubbing the needles together. They were a very good purchase.

Good working tool
I ordered this set because I didn't have a lot of dp needles, needed a size I didn't have, and also wanted to try the bamboo. I have been knitting the sleeves on a wool sweater using them, and I am VERY happy with the way they work. I'd tried plastic dp needles before, and the yarn kept slipping off. These needles cling every so gently to the yarn and make it much easier to use them. Some people had mentioned they thought the points weren't sharp enough, but I do not have that experience at all. I find the points perfectly acceptable. I'm returning to knitting after many years off, and find these an excellent addition to my knitting tools.

Fantastic Needles! Couldn't Be Happier!
I absolutely love these dpns! I would say that I'm a relatively advanced beginner knitter and these are very nice for the price :) I've never used bamboo needles before, but these are lovely on the hands. My metal needles are very harsh on my hands, though I don't know why, and these are much easier to use compared to the smaller sizes of metal. I've constantly been using the size 7, size 9, and size 5 pairs for dolls, mittens, socks, and what have you. Definitely my favorite set of needles and a steal! Thinking about getting the straight needles next and passing on the metal ones to my college roommate who's decided to take up knitting because of me xD

Perfect for Beginners
This was perfect for me! I'm a new knitter and I was finishing up a hat when I realized that I didn't have any double pointed needles. This had EVERY size I could possibly need and I don't have to keep running out to the store to find the right ones. Lets face it, learning to read those patterns takes time and if you're anxious like me, you tend to jump ahead of yourself. It's nice to have these when that happens. It took time getting used to the bamboo as opposed to the aluminum needles, but I like that they don't slip as easily. Making a baby blanket now. Love it!

Great value, sharp enough tips
These are a nice value for the quality. They aren't super sharp but they are more so than store brands. Not super sliippery and a medium color. No strange smell. They are true to size and I am grateful to have a whole set w/o having to make multiple purchases. Would recommend.

These needles are great and arrived in perfect condition
These needles are great and arrived in perfect condition... however, I really question whether U.S. size 1 needles really belong in bamboo. I should have thought of this before I bought them, but I didn't. Even U.S. 2 is pushing it, and I've felt them bend when trying to make some stitches k2tog or p2tog for instance. That being said, none of my needles have broken yet, but I do think I'll be replacing the smaller needles with metal soon.
