Oil and adjustment make the difference
Consider me impressed! I have zero experience with RC shocks, and I'm instead using these to build a shock-absorbing gimbal mount for my camera. When I first pulled these out of the package, I thought they were way too soft and bouncy for my purpose. But when I started tightening the spring adjustment, it became much stiffer. Adding 60wt shock oil from Team Losi Racing gave the shocks a very smooth action, reducing the bouncy feel a lot. I haven't mounted these on my camera plate yet, but I think they'll be more than adequate for bearing the weight and isolating the rig from road jitter. (I originally only used pieces of wire rope separating two metal plates, but the gimbal and camera combined were too heavy.) As for build quality, I'd say these are made from decent materials. The springs seem strong, the threads are well-cut, and the whole thing feels solid despite being light. The mounting points at the ends are plastic, but I think they're sturdy enough to last as long as you use the oil to dampen jolts. Bottom line, these seem like a great value. Just be sure to adjust them to your needs.

Solid upgrade
At first glance these are holding up and performing well after filling with shock oil. I am using these on a Hosim 9125 that came with terrible friction shocks so these are a solid upgrade from original. I had to reuse the original top shock mount eyelets because my shock hold offs are too small for these shocks. The gasket in the shock cap is a pain to get back in without tearing it (if you have to replace the top shock mount eyelet). I recommend these if you are looking for a low cost upgrade. KEEP IN MIND THESE ARE MEDIUM BORE. CLEARANCE MIGHT BE AN ISSUE FOR SOME.

you get what you pay for.........
So i bought 2 sets of these for our Laegendary Legend and Tornado truggy bashers since the factory so called oil filled shocks are in reality oil filled friction shocks. since these are the only true oil filled shocks that actually come close to the factory dimensions.after filling them with the aproate weight of silicone shock oil i noticed that 1 shock out of each set was a little dodgey with the adjustable spring tensioner being rediculasly loose and i used a pair of channel locks to compress the nut to where it was actually grabbing the threads on the shock body. After being used for roughly 4 sessions the questionable shocks started leeking within weeks of each other. After removeing them and disassembling the questionable leaky shocks i discovered that both were missing 2 rubber o-rings each. So after inspecting them and installing the missing o-rings and reassembling and filling with oil and remounting them, i can say that the issue was found and resolved. Now if the manufacturer would focus on improving their quality control.........

Works fine
Needed some inexpensive shocks for a knock around build. I was impressed with the quality of these. Threads were nice and once filled, no leaks. I'm sure if using for racing may not dampen as well as more expensive units but worked perfect for me.

You definitely get what you pay for
Apon opening the package they actually didn't look too bad, but that's where it ended. I planned on using these on a no prep drag build, first off the threading on the adjustable collars was full of burrs, once filled with shock oil they bounced like a pogo stick on 30 weight oil, 50 weight oil and you could feel some resistance in them but still bouncy, they were not smooth at all even with shock oil in them, the pistons must have huge holes in them because they had very little dampening, when I took them apart I found out they do not have piston plates with holes in them, they have solid metal washers that allow the oil to flow around them, tried to retro fit actual pistons from different manufacters like (associated,Traxxas,HPI) with no luck, so you're stuck with the washers, I ended up using 3000 wt diff fluid in them for the rears and 50wt in the front...the progressive springs seemed to work well but the overall lack of quality really shows, but again you "get what you pay for" do yourself a favor and buy good shocks from a name brand company. You'll be better off.

Great product !
This is the frame to an RC monster truck I am building. I was shocked when I received the shocks. So high a quality for such a low price. It's great!

Severe friction inside
Although the shock absorber looks fine, inside the tube where the rod slides, the walls have a thread-like texture as if it were a female screw, making the movement of the rod rough and jammed. Only 1 of the 4 works properly. You have to fill it with oil.

Extremely low quality and honestly a joke.
I bought these just on a hope they would suffice for some lower use builds. Upon receiving them I pulled them out of the packaging hopeful to find something usable, Unfortunately that was not the case. To start with the lower shock O-rings do not fit inside the lower shock. The diameter of the shock is incorrect to the O-Rings. The shock has a light amount of extremely heavy oil, guessing 3k diff fluid. Even with this the shock is already leaking. Besides the lower o-ring issue the piston is a solid metal washer that doesn’t touch the sidewalls of the shock body. This is a major design issue as it allows the shock shaft to wiggle back and forth in any direction. This also promotes leakage since not only does the incorrect o-rings need to maintain seal as the shock travels on a vertical but it also needs to try and seal travel on horizontal. These are a complete joke! Do not under any circumstances if you are serious buy these.
