I bought this after my dog's cable lead snapped, due to him biting through it. First impressions are good and after using it, I find it a great lead, albeit a bit shorter than my previous one. Excellent value for money, as there is a collapsible bowl for food/water and a roll of bags and holder in the box as well. Definitely recommend.

He can't be let off the lead because he just chases everything that moves and has zero recall, but I wanted him to have more freedom than being stuck on a short lead. I've been using this lead for about 4 months now and so far it's been great. Unlike some of the other reviews which I don't really understand, I would say that this lead is built like a tank, it's heavy duty plastic and the handle is covered with a soft rubber so it's nice and comfortable to hold. As with any retractable lead, you do need to pay attention to what the dog is doing, because if it sees something to chase and runs off you will get jolted or have the lead pulled out of your hand when it gets to the end. I am always watching my dog's behaviour and so I usually see if he's spotted something and I can put the brake on before he dashes off. The leash itself is thing but strong. It is a "tape" style leash rather than a cord, so it coils up neatly and doesn't snag. The dog has plenty of range from the lead, any more and you would lose control and get it would get wound around things. I would definitely buy another one of these if this one broke.

Got this for my 9 month cavapoo. I'd say I have small hands and this feels comfortable to hold and just about fits in hoodie type pockets. The range is good giving him a decent enough space to sniff etc but you can lock the length at whatever distance you prefer if you want him closer. The extra collapsible drinking bowl and dog poop bag holder are also good. However I thread a couple of bags through the attached ring at the bottom.My dog isn't the strongest but does pull a fair bit and this holds him well , and the retractable lead feeds and returns well. I've had no problems and would recommend.

This is the king of extendable dog leads. Comfortable grip, easy locking action reflective tape lead, free accessories (poo bag holder and collapsible water container) appears from first week of usage, that it doesn't twist up like some cheaper brands so for a lively Springer puppy this is perfect.

We purchased this lead because my dog is not allowed to run, as he has ham string problems and muscle wastage in his hind legs, he is a large Bull Mastiff, we found this lead gives him a little more freedom than his standard lead, its easy to use we especially like the attached little bone that stores the poo bags.

UPDATE: ***Customer service were very quick to get in touch with me to resolve the problem, they offered to send a replacement or a refund, which I was very impressed with. I took the refund as I had purchased another lead but I would purchase again from this seller as I believe this issue was very much a one off***I’m writing this 2.5 months after purchase, initially happy with the lead, thought it was good value as came with small drinking bowl and poo bag dispenser but the lead wasn’t very sturdy, my dog is a medium size 20kg and the lead snapped when out walking him, not very safe but luckily wasn’t near a busy road. Disappointed it didn’t last longer

I have two of these leads, one is a few years old and still as good as new. My own dog doesn’t require a retractable lead because he has good recall and walks lovely on a lead. However, I look after two Cavachons sometimes and they’re not so well trained! They weigh about 7-8kg and with these leads I can ensure they have a run, safely. The leads retract quickly and easily without getting tangled. I would definitely recommend them.
