Spring Torch' is a compact, spreading, evergreen shrub bearing narrow, mid-green leaves with cream, orange, and red tips in spring and short racemes of mauve flowers from summer into autumn. Ideal in many areas of the garden including slopes and for ground cover. Position: This heather needs an open site in well-drained, fertile, acidic soil in full sun. Flowering time: August – September Mature Height/Spread: 45cm (18in) x 60cm (24in) Plant care: Mulch if snow cover is not consistent. Prune annually in spring by cutting back flowered shoots to within an inch of previous year's growth.
